We are delighted to once again be able to host Scotland’s Daffodil Festival here at Backhouse Rossie on 9th & 10th April 2022. Come along and enjoy this uplifting spring event for all the family.

With stunning Daffodil Displays inside our Flower Barns, and beds outside filled with some of the original first daffodils created from the Wordsworth style Narcissus.
The National Scientific Collection of Narcissus, holds the secrets of early daffodil hybridising in Britain growing in neat beds, and we have over 20,000 daffodils including beautifully scented, heritage Wordsworth style and modern varieties all around the gardens.

Our Walled Garden is full of spring plantings, and you can follow the Woodland Walk to a Covenanters tomb, or wander down the Narcissus lined path in the footsteps of Mary Queen of Scots. Our Bear Walk is planted with scented daffodils and children can also take part in a woodland quiz.

You can enjoy our Festival Café, food and drink and artisan stalls, plant sales, garden fete stalls including Coconut Shy and Hook a Duck, as well as listen to fascinating Talks and see all the Prize-winning daffodils on display, including the important lost Daffodil cultivar which took 10 years to find!

Well behaved dogs on leads are allowed on the woodland walk.
